Team placement is determined by both AGE (as of August 31) and SKILL. As a program, it is our goal to place children on teams that they will have the opportunity to develop and progress as cheerleaders and as a team.
All payments are due on or before the 1st of each month (August-April). Members are required to have a credit card on file. If you have enough fundraising credit or have pre-paid your tuition or other fees that are due that month (competition fees or uniform expenses) your credit card will not be charged. However, if your account has a balance due on the 1st of the month your credit card will be charged. Balances MUST be current in order to practice and compete.
Each participant is considered a "member" of the gym. Our insurance requires each participant to pay an annual membership fee for participation during the season. Included in this payment is your practice wear.
If there is more than one child per family participating in our program we offer a $10 discount for the annual membership fee and 50% off monthly tuition for the second child.
Cheerleaders are required to purchase their own uniform - which includes:
Uniform payments will be divided up into 6 payments collected through March.
Cheerleaders have the opportunity to participate in several fundraisers to help offset competition entry fees, monthly tuition, and/or uniform expenses. Fundraisers include: Gorants Candy Bars, Celebrating Homes Candles & Dips, Mixed Bags, Pepperoni Rolls, Premium Delights, and Sponsors.
Each team member will conduct him/herself in such a manner as to credit Cheertown USA. Each athlete will know and abide by the rules and treat staff members, coaches, and other team members with the utmost respect.
We feel that communication between the staff, parents, and team members is very important in maintaining a great relationship. We will do our best to keep you informed in a timely manner. Information that is important may be found at the front desk and on the bulletin board located in the lobby and viewing area. It is the responsibility of the parent and/or team member to check for important information and updates.
Once selected for a Cheertown USA team, it is your obligation to attend all practices. When one member is absent, it can keep the whole team from achieving their goals for that practice. During the competition season we may add additional practices when finalizing a performance routine.
Practice wear (t-shirt and shorts) should be worn to EVERY practice. Hair must be pulled away from the face and neck at all times. Shoes should be clean and not worn outside the gym. All jewelry should be taken off before entering the gym. Each team member is responsible for bringing their OWN water or water bottle.
Snow and ice days will be evaluated on a case to case basis. The tiny and mini teams will follow Columbiana school cancellations (therefore if Columbiana has no school - our tiny and mini teams will have no practice). Parents will be notified of cancellations by a phone call, text message, or e-mail.
We end our season with our annual CHEERTOWN USA PEP RALLY (it is like a dance recital but for cheerleaders). There is no spectator fee and no limit to the amount of people who can attend. The pep rally will be held on Friday, April 20th at Columbiana High School beginning at 7:30 p.m.
